Seneca Falls Central School District

The Seneca Falls Central School District covers the village of Seneca Falls, and the townships of Seneca Falls, Fayette and Tyre.  There are two elementary schools (K-2 and grades 3-5), the Seneca Falls Middle School (grades 6-8), in addition to Mynderse Academy (grades 9-12).

The district prides itself on offering a multitude of educational opportunities to its diverse student population.  The elementary schools emphasize an integrated language arts program and hands-on, manipulative math program for its students, as well as, the "inquiry/discovery" methodology in science.  Computer instruction begins in 2nd grade and participation in the instrumental and choral programs begins in 5th and 3rd grades respectively.

The secondary schools continue the emphasis upon educational opportunities.  Accelerated learning opportunities are available in math and science as well as AP courses being offered in Calculus, English, U.S. History, Physics and Biology.  Specialized programs are also available to students in Business, Family & Consumer Studies and Technology.  Students can also participate in four years of French and Spanish foreign language instruction.

Co-curricular and interscholastic opportunities area also available to our students including instrumental and choral music, drama, service and literary activities as well as athletics for males and females in each season.

St. John Bosco School
Phone: 315- 568-6295

St. John Bosco School was formed as a result of a consolidation between St. Mary School in Waterloo and St. Patrick School in Seneca Falls . Both schools have enjoyed a long tradition of providing a Christ-centered education to the young people of Seneca County .

The school's warm family environment welcomes all nationalities and faiths. The diversity of our student population is increasing due to the presence of the New York Chiropractic College located just down the road.

There are approximately 130 Pre-K through Eighth Grade students taught by ten full-time and seven part-time faculty members. Our Pre-K program includes half-day classes for both 3-year-olds and 4-year-olds. Our K-8 program includes special classes for academic intervention, art, computer technology, instrumental music, library, physical education, Spanish, and vocal music. Our curriculum provides many interactive events such as Taking Tea, Presidents' Dinner, Medieval Banquet, and the Science Congress with Cornell University . Many of these events and others are held in conjunction with the other Catholic schools in the Finger Lakes region. Students are involved in many service projects throughout the year to show their involvement with the parish and the community. Sports that we offer include cross-country, CYO basketball and cheerleading, ski club, and swimming lessons at NYCC.

We welcome the involvement of the whole family in our extracurricular activities and special events. We have a very active parents' group that plans monthly academic and/or social activities for the students. Many parents and grandparents volunteer to help with everyday activities in the classrooms, lunchroom, and at recess.

St. John Bosco School provides a hot lunch program on a daily basis. We have a kitchen facility, gym, stage, library and computer lab. For the 2005-2006 academic year, we hope to establish an extended day program for working families.
