Employee Profile: Tammy Hirons, SF Firefighter
Monday, June 19, 2006
Name: Tammy Hirons
Job: Seneca Falls Firefighter
Tammy is a Firefighter with the Seneca Falls Fire Department. She is also a trained emergency medical technician with North Seneca Ambulance and Seneca Falls Fire Department’s Rescue Team, having been one of the initiators and founding supporters of our own emergency rescue efforts within the Village of Seneca Falls.
In a field that is still predominantly served by men, Tammy has “held her own,” earning the respect and admiration of her fellow firefighters. She is currently one of three women serving the Seneca Falls Fire Department, in addition to her “day” job with Goulds Pumps, ITT in the Village.
Tammy lives in the Village with her husband, Bill. They have three daughters: Tiffany, Danielle, and Deanna, and a son, Zachery.
Tammy, Bill, and Danielle recently donated several hours of community service on a Saturday morning by assisting in the Village Council’s “Community Day.” More than 20 employees worked together in the cemetery to clean rubbish, remove dead brush and weeds, clean the mausoleum, and plant new flower beds that greet visitors at the entrance to the village’s portion of Restvale cemetery on East Bayard Street.
We are extremely proud of Tammy and her service to the community, both as a firefighter and as a volunteer. If you see her today, stop and say, “Hello,” and thank her for her hard work for the Village of Seneca Falls!
