Tax Due Dates
Town and County tax bills are due in January
If paid in February a 1% penalty is added
If paid in March a 2 % penalty is added
April 1st any unpaid bill is tuned over to the county for additional penalties and collections.
If not paid by April 1st the taxpayer may contact the Treasurer's Office for payment instructions. The County Treasurer's Office is located in the County office building at:

Village tax is due in June:
Village Taxes will no longer be paid at any of the local banks. Taxes can be paid in person at Village Hall, 60 State Street or by mail made payable to Village Tax Collector, 60 State Street, Seneca Falls, NY 13148. Taxes will be accepted WITHOUT penalty from June 1 through July 1. Any payments made from July 2nd – July 31 will have a penalty of 5% added. Additional penalty schedule as follows:
Payments made during the month of:
August - 6%,
September - 7% (plus $2.00 “Late Notice” fee) *
October - 8% (plus $2.00 “Late Notice” fee)
November - 9% (plus $2.00 “Late Notice” fee)**
* Late notices are mailed on September 1.
**On December 1, all unpaid taxes are returned to the Seneca County Treasurer for inclusion on the Town and County tax bills on January 1.
At this time, Village taxes cannot be paid with debit or credit cards.
